Business-use licence and permitted use
The service is offered to food businesses and professional users, not for personal or household use. A free trial or paid subscription grants the participating business a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the selected workspace for its own internal food safety activities during the applicable access period.
- Account and access details must be kept within the purchasing business and may only be used by its authorised personnel.
- Resale, sublicensing, public distribution, scraping, reverse engineering and sharing access with unrelated businesses are prohibited.
- The customer is responsible for the accuracy of entered data, backups of exported records and lawful use of personal data.
- Availability may be interrupted for essential maintenance, security work or events outside reasonable control.
English is the contract language for the UK product. Latvian law governs the contract, without removing any mandatory rights or rules that apply to the UK business customer. Disputes should first be raised at info@ibfoodtech.com.
Seven-day free trial and monthly subscription
A new customer can start one seven-day Food Label Helper trial without entering payment-card details. The trial does not renew, does not create a subscription and cannot result in an automatic charge. It ends automatically seven days after it is started. To continue after the trial, the customer must make a separate, explicit choice to purchase the monthly subscription through Stripe Checkout.
The Food Label Helper base subscription is £9.99 per month. The optional specialist label-review add-on is £24.99 per month, making £34.98 per month when both are active. The selected price, billing interval and any applicable tax are shown before payment in Stripe Checkout. Tax treatment depends on the customer’s business status and location. Customers must provide accurate billing and tax information and account for VAT or any reverse charge where applicable.
- Trial access is intended once per customer and business. We may limit repeated trials from the same browser, device or business.
- Drafts saved locally during the trial remain on the customer’s device, but the workspace is locked when the trial ends until a subscription is purchased.
- The subscription renews monthly until cancelled.
- No setup fee is charged unless a separate service is ordered.
- Cancellation can be completed in the Stripe customer portal from the workspace. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Cancellation stops future renewals. Amounts already paid are not refunded for a partially used billing period unless required by law or a service fault makes the service materially unavailable.
- Price changes apply only after prior notice and do not alter an already-paid billing period.
A drafting and checking tool, not regulatory approval
The Food Label Helper organises information supplied by the customer and produces an editable label draft. It supports common UK prepacked and prepacked-for-direct-sale (PPDS) labelling workflows, but it does not decide the product’s legal classification or certify a finished label as compliant.
- The recipe-reading and suggestion functions use AI-assisted OCR and automated language processing. Customers are interacting with an AI-assisted drafting tool and must verify every output.
- The customer must select the correct UK jurisdiction and sale model, including whether the food is prepacked, PPDS or sold non-prepacked. Northern Ireland may have additional or different requirements, particularly for goods moved from Great Britain.
- The customer remains responsible for the name of the food, recipe, ingredient order, compound ingredients, QUID, supplier specifications, additive declarations and all mandatory particulars that apply to the product.
- Allergen suggestions are automated prompts only. The customer must check all 14 regulated allergens, cross-contact controls and any precautionary allergen statement against current supplier information and a documented risk assessment. A “may contain” statement must not be used as a substitute for good controls.
- The customer must determine and substantiate the date mark, shelf life, storage and preparation instructions, country-of-origin information, claims and any product-specific warning or statement.
- A nutrition declaration is not automatically optional for every small producer. Any exemption must be checked and documented for the actual business, product and route to market. Nutrition or health claims and some product categories may trigger additional requirements.
- Before sale, the customer must check the final artwork and pack, including legibility, minimum font size, field of vision, net quantity, date and lot coding, online-sale information and the full physical postal address of the responsible food business.
Product-specific rules can apply to meat, fish, dairy, alcohol, food supplements, foods for infants and young children, protected names and other regulated categories. Customers should use current official guidance and obtain advice from their local authority, Trading Standards or an appropriately qualified specialist where the answer is uncertain.
